Conference Registration Official Rules

1)      The registration fee is non-refundable and badges are not transferable. However, if you are unable to attend, a substitute may attend if arranged with MECA in advance.  There will be no charge for the substitution if arranged by 4/30/04; an extra $10 charge will be assessed after that date.  Unused registrations have no value and may not be credited to future events.  Badges will not be replaced if lost or stolen.

2)      Registrants must be 18 years of age or older. Minors under 18 may make special arrangements.  Contact MECA.

3)      Conference registration allows admittance to all general conference events, including panel sessions, clinics, showcases and band/artist networking events.

4)      Admission policies for showcases vary depending on the venue hosting the event. The conference badge only guarantees that no cover fee will be charged for entrance to the venue.  The admittance policies of each venue will override any MECA Music Conference & Festival admittance policies.  Please note, many of the venues have a strict 21 and over policy.

5)      Attendees are responsible for their own transportation and accommodations. A special rate has been arranged for registrants at the Congress Plaza Hotel for reservations made by 4/12/04, but the registrant must refer to attendance at the MECA Music Conference & Festival.

6)      Please bring a valid photo ID with age information when picking up your badge at the on-site registration desk.  Additionally, students must present a valid student ID to receive the student discount.

7)      You may pick up only your own badge unless prior arrangements have been made.

8)      No materials of any kind may be posted at the Congress Plaza Hotel during the term of the conference, except in specially designated areas. Failure to comply with this requirement will result in cancellation of the conference registration and banishment from any future MECA Music Conference & Festival events.

9)      There is limited capacity at panel sessions, clinics and showcases. Although MECA Music Conference & Festival makes every effort to schedule a variety of events in adequately-sized rooms, it is not possible to predict attendance at individual sessions. If a particular session is important to you, plan to arrive early to secure a place for yourself.  MECA Music Conference & Festival will not refund fees if you are unable to attend particular sessions.

10)  MECA assumes no liability for damage, injury, or loss of any kind at hotel, bars or any other venue MECA may list, nor does MECA warrant the suitability or capacity of any venue.

11)  The schedule of events, panel topics, panelists, speakers and clinicians are subject to change.  If an event has to be changed, MECA Music Conference & Festival will make every effort to make a substitution of equivalent quality and/or substance.  MECA Music Conference & Festival is not liable for any inconvenience or damages caused by a change in schedule and/or presenters. 

12)  The MECA Music Conference & Festival is intended to be valuable learning experience for all attendees.  Any actions or language that discriminate against or harass particular individuals or groups of attendees are not acceptable and may cause cancellation of your conference registration. Each session will be managed by a moderator who will set the rules for the operation of the session.  Please be sure that pager and cell phone ringers are switched off during panel and clinic sessions.  No consumption of illegal substances is permitted at MECA sponsored events. Smoking and consumption of alcohol are permitted only in designated and licensed areas.

13)  At the sole discretion of MECA Music Conference &Festival, registrations may be cancelled or refused for any individual or company at any time.  MECA has organized this Conference and Festival to be an enjoyable experience for all attendees, and any conduct by any attendee or guest that in MECA's sole judgment interferes with this goal will result in dismissal from the Conference with no refund of any fees and cancellation of all badge privileges.
